About the Campaign
Dislocated hip, broken paw!
Ruby, a sweet 3-year-old French Bulldog, was hit by a car and left with a dislocated hip and fractured paw. She now needs surgery to recover and walk again.
Ruby lives with Meriah, who has been in a wheelchair since a car accident three years ago. After the accident, Ruby became Meriah’s constant companion and emotional support. Meriah chose Ruby from a litter her ex-fiancé’s dogs had—she was the cutest of them all, and they’ve been inseparable ever since.
Last month, Ruby darted out when the gate opened at church and was struck by a car. Meriah rushed her to a nearby affordable animal hospital, spending $1,500 on X-rays, medication, and a temporary cast. But Ruby now needs orthopedic surgery to properly repair her injuries and give her a full chance at recovery.
Meriah lives with her 15-year-old daughter, her mom Maribel, her 80-year-old grandmother Yolanda, and her sister Madeline—who also serves as her caregiver. Meriah is on SSDI and simply cannot afford the cost of surgery on her own.
Ruby is not just a pet—she’s a lifeline. Please help this little Frenchie heal and return to the side of the person who needs her most. All donations will go directly to Ruby’s vet for her care. Estimate below, click to enlarge:
