About the Campaign
Need Help for Dental Care (and a Heart Checkup, Too!)
Potsie and Savanah, two beloved rescue cats, are in urgent need of dental care—and Potsie also needs a checkup for her heart murmur. Their owner, Tara, has done everything she can to keep them healthy, but now she needs help covering their vet visits, dental cleanings, and any potential extractions.
Potsie (Savanah is the big photo above):
Potsie, a 6-year-old gray tabby with a mysterious past, showed up in 2020 during a difficult time in Tara’s life. After some digging, it became clear no one was coming for him—so Tara welcomed him into her home. He recently spent the night at an animal hospital due to a fever, and during a routine follow-up, the vet flagged his dental disease and his heart murmur.
Savanah, 11, has been with Tara even longer. Rescued from a neighboring area more than a decade ago, she was a protective mother with a litter of kittens when Tara trapped her. The kittens found homes, and Savanah stayed. Recently, Tara noticed blood and redness in the back of her mouth—clear signs she also needs dental treatment.
Tara is a 2nd-grade public school teacher. Her husband Gabriel runs a small carpet and upholstery cleaning business and has picked up solar panel work where he can, but it’s not enough to cover unexpected vet bills. Tara recently had knee surgery in May and is still in physical therapy. Despite all of this, she continues to care for cats in her neighborhood who have nowhere else to go.
In fact she has maxed out her credit card paying for care for stray cats and doing TNR, and cannot get Care Credit now for Potsie and Savanah!
This fundraiser will help cover the cost of vet exams, dental cleanings, and any necessary extractions for both cats. It will also ensure Potsie gets his heart murmur evaluated. Every dollar goes directly to the veterinary office to help Tara’s cats get the care they need.
