About the Campaign

Minutes from being put to sleep,

she was saved by Open Arms Rescue!

A couple was crossing from Tijuana, Mexico to San Diego when they saw a man selling puppies to those waiting in line, and they bought little Lydia.

But it turned out she was sick, with diarrhea, and they were so annoyed they decided to take her to the vet to be “put down”. Fortunately Open Arms Rescue in San Diego found out and talked them in to turning Lydia over to the rescue!

Lydia has Parvo, a disease common in improperly cared for puppies, and it has advanced to a fairly strong state. The rescue has arranged treatment for Lydia, but was unprepared for this expense. Fortunately they are able to get treatment at a reduced rate, and do have some funds available, so little Lydia doesn’t require the usual thousands of dollars needed in a Parvo case.

A little goes a long way for Lydia, so if you can help please make a donation today!

Some years ago our baby lab had parvo even after all her litter was immunized. Our vet gave us medication that was not expensive and she came out of it just fine.

OH BOY WHEN IT RAINS IT POURS…. SO LYDIA GOT THROUGH THE PARVO ONLY TO COME DOWN W/DISTEMPER. SINCE DISTEMPER INCUBATES MUCH LONGER IT DIDN’T SHOW UP FOR 3 WEEKS. AND SHE TESTED POSITIVE FOR THAT TOO. THE PARVO IS PRETTY MUCH GONE BUT NOW SHE HAS TO GET THROUGH THE DISTEMPER VIRUS. SHE IS DOING GOOD BUT THERE IS A WAYS TO GO…
