About the Campaign

Painful teeth.

Lucky, a 13-year-old Chantilly Tiffany cat, needs dental surgery to remove two painful teeth and lab work to check her organ function. She’s also prone to bladder crystals, so her diet and hydration are especially important. Recently, Lucky stopped eating her prescription dry food and then began losing interest in wet food too. Angie, her owner, took her to the vet right away — but she can’t afford the needed dental work and tests on her own.

Angie and Lucky have been together for more than a decade. Angie found Lucky when she was homeless, sleeping on a friend’s couch. She heard faint meows and discovered a tiny kitten outside — one of a litter that had been abandoned in a box of water. Only Lucky survived. “You should call her Lucky,” a neighbor’s child said, and the name stuck.

Today, Angie and Lucky finally have a stable home after being homeless for 13 months. Angie lives on disability assistance through Section 8 and HUD, and she’s been recovering from major surgeries, including a hysterectomy and upcoming gallbladder removal. Despite her efforts, she hasn’t been able to return to work due to PTSD, anxiety, and other health issues. Lucky is her emotional support animal and constant companion — “the best cat I’ve ever had,” Angie says.

Lucky is still eating for now, but Angie fears she’ll stop if her dental issues worsen. With your help, Lucky can get the extractions and lab work she needs to stay healthy and comfortable. All donations are held by us and paid directly to the veterinarian for her care. Estimate below, click to enlarge:
