About the Campaign
She used to be so active!
Katsu is a 4-year-old female Corgi who tore her CCL (often called an ACL tear) and needs surgery to stabilize her knee and relieve her pain. The injury happened suddenly while she was doing what she loves most—chasing a ball at the park. Now Katsu is holding up her left leg and won’t put weight on it, even with pain medication. She needs orthopedic repair so she can heal properly and return to an active, comfortable life.
Jenny first noticed the injury this past Sunday. Katsu was playing fetch, ran after the ball, and started limping out of nowhere. Within moments it was clear this wasn’t a minor sprain—Jenny had to carry her home. Since then, Katsu has been unable to handle the stairs at home, and Jenny has been carrying her up and down multiple steps every day, trying to keep her safe and prevent further damage.
Katsu’s story with Jenny is especially sweet. Jenny was in college when Katsu came into her life—thanks to an aunt who knew Jenny loved dogs, even though Jenny’s parents were very against it. That aunt secretly took Jenny to get a dog and bought Katsu for her. For a while, Jenny would “sneak” Katsu with her while living off campus, slowly proving she could be a responsible dog owner. Over time, Katsu won the whole family over. Jenny lives with her parents now, and they care about Katsu—but they won’t help pay for surgery, believing it’s not a good use of money.
Jenny is trying to do this on her own, but the timing couldn’t be worse. She’s a recent graduate and just started working as a commission-only real estate agent, and she has no sales yet. She applied for CareCredit and was declined. Without steady income or credit, there’s no way to cover a costly orthopedic procedure quickly—yet waiting too long can lead to worsening pain and more joint damage.
Katsu is still young. She’s playful, ball-obsessed, and built to move—but right now she can’t. Jenny is doing everything she can: keeping Katsu rested, managing pain meds, and physically carrying her around the home. What she needs now is help getting Katsu the surgery that will actually fix the problem.
Donations will help cover Katsu’s knee surgery and related veterinary care so she can get back on all four paws. All donations are paid only to the veterinarian. Estimate below, click to enlarge:

Erica & Toby
Bandit’s helped save my Toby’s life when he had Aspiration Pneumonia as a side effect of a chronic condition called megaesophagus. Happy to pay it forward, grateful for my boy every day.
Sending lots of healing vibes to Katsu (love love LOVE her name btw) and lots of licks and tail wags from my corgi Toby.

I really feel for her. Corgi’s legs are so short for that stout body. She needs to have them all. An ACL is fixable. I want to help. Love and hugs to Katsu
