and now Ditzy is behaving depressed, and different.

Ditzy has been part of Renee’s family since birth—the tiny runt of the litter, struggling to survive. With love and care, she grew into a happy, affectionate dog. But now, at just four years old, Ditzy is facing a serious health challenge.

A tumor has been growing on Ditzy’s stomach for two years. At first, Renee thought it was a harmless hernia, but over the past two years, it’s gotten larger. Lately, Ditzy has been more tired, less playful, and clearly uncomfortable. The vet suspects a soft tissue tumor and recommends an aspiration and surgery to remove it.

Renee is the sole provider for her household, working at LAX as a cargo documentation agent while also caring for her disabled daughter, who lost her left leg in a car accident. Money is already tight, and with ongoing medical costs at home, Renee couldn’t even afford the full cost of Ditzy’s initial vet visit. She was denied Care Credit and can only put $300 toward the surgery—far from what’s needed.
