Chewy Needs More Testing
Possible Cancer Diagnosis
Chewy, a 6-year-old Chihuahua mix, needs your help again. Thanks to donations from his first fundraiser, Marisela was able to get him to the vet and start initial treatment. But Chewy is still losing weight and hiding in his kennel—he’s just not himself. The vet ruled out leptospirosis, but bloodwork showed multiple serious abnormalities. Now they suspect cancer.
To confirm what’s wrong, Chewy urgently needs another specialized ultrasound (different from the one he already had), along with another full blood panel. Without this testing, the vet cannot determine if cancer is present—or how to treat him.
Chewy had a course of medication, but his symptoms have returned, and time is running out. Marisela is desperate to keep pursuing care. She’s not working full-time yet, delivering for UberEats and DoorDash while applying for medical assistant jobs. Her mom, Alicia, is also seeing her warehouse hours cut.
Chewy the puppy:
Chewy has been Marisela’s loving companion since 2019, when her mom brought him home from a friend’s litter. He chose Marisela with his sweet, affectionate nature—and now she’s fighting for him.
Your donation will help pay for Chewy’s next round of diagnostics, so they can finally get answers and give him a chance to recover. All donations go directly to the veterinarian. Estimate is below, click to enlarge:
