About the Campaign

Possible Intestinal Blockage

Benji, a sweet 3-year-old Terrier mix, is having a serious stomach issue that needs urgent care. His owner, Lydia, noticed that Benji started passing black stool and developed bumps near his groin area. Lydia suspects this may be linked to an incident last year when Benji chewed and swallowed part of a plastic ball.

At the time, Benji had jelly-like black stool and was taken to a vet, but they were unable to resolve the issue. Supplements helped for a while, but now the symptoms have returned. Just three weeks ago, Lydia took Benji to Affordable Animal Hospital, and they advised that a foreign object might still be inside him.

Now Benji needs further diagnostics—likely imaging and treatment—to check for an intestinal blockage or other complications. Without this care, Benji’s condition could quickly worsen.

Lydia, 70, is retired and lives alone. She got Benji from a pound in Riverside when he was just 14 weeks old, hoping for a companion. He’s been her best friend and a source of comfort and safety ever since. On her fixed Social Security income, she cannot afford the vet bills and does not qualify for Care Credit.

Benji is a good, loving dog with a treatable condition. With your help, we can get him the care he needs so he can feel better and enjoy life with Lydia once again. All donations go directly to the vet for Benji’s treatment. Estimate below, click to enlarge:
