About the Campaign
Just 10 months old:
Knee surgery needed
Anna, a 10-month-old Pitbull, has had a tough start in life. Originally given away on Nextdoor because her previous owner’s apartment was too small, she found a new home where she was loved—but life took an unexpected turn.
Last September, when Anna was just six months old, she jumped out of a truck after a trip to Walmart and started limping. At first, her family hoped it would heal on its own, but after a week of concern, the limping stopped—only to return when she started walking more again. A vet visit confirmed the worst: Anna had torn her cranial cruciate ligament (CCL), a devastating knee injury.
Her family did everything they could to get her surgery. Jennifer, a single mother on disability, couldn’t get approved for credit, but with the help of donations and a generous friend, Ray, they managed to get Anna’s first TPLO surgery. But the damage had already been done—waiting too long led to Anna tearing her other knee. Now, she needs another TPLO surgery to walk without pain.
Jennifer has organic brain damage, making communication and decision-making difficult, and Anna is her emotional support animal. But right now, Anna is just a puppy who can’t be a puppy. She drags her leg, unable to run, play, or enjoy the life she deserves.
They have already maxed out what they could afford—$2,000 in donations and another $2,000 on a credit card for the first surgery. Now, they need help raising $4,000 for Anna’s second TPLO procedure.
With surgery, Anna will have a full chance at a healthy, happy life. Every donation goes directly to the vet for Anna’s care, paid only to the veterinarian. Estimate is below, click it to enlarge:
