About the Campaign
Tears-ducts in her left eye just no longer work.
Rescued 7 years ago from Baldwin Park Animal Shelter
Angelina’s mom took her in when she was about 6 years old, and now she is getting close to 13 years old. She always had problems with her left eye, centered around tear-ducts that would clog, but recently it has gotten to the level that the only solution is to remove the eye.
Angelina cannot see well out of the eye anyway, and it painful. The other day her mom took her to the vet to clean it, and the vet flushed her tear-ducts THREE TIMES, and still couldn’t get it open well. Poor Angelina’s eye then gets crusty, and dry, is scratches, swells and can even get bloody.
Rubbing due to the swelling/pain
Removal of the eye is a pretty straight forward procedure, and will relieve her chronic pain. The surgery is quoted at $600-$650 with about $200 or so for testing before and then follow up. Angelina is 13 years old, so she needs a blood test before surgery.
All donations are only paid to the vet for Angelina specifically. If the surgery doesn't occur, donations are refunded.
