About the Campaign

Yoshi Needs a Biopsy and Ear Cleaning

Paula and her family have had Yoshi for about eight months now, ever since he showed up at their door looking for food. Yoshi is a very affectionate cat who loves to be petted. He would come to their door every day, and this became a ritual. After three months, Paula’s son took on the responsibility of feeding him until Paula agreed to allow him into the house. They already had another cat and a dog, but Yoshi quickly became a beloved member of the family.

About two months after bringing Yoshi into their home, they noticed something was wrong with one of his ears. They took him to the vet for a checkup and vaccines. The vet provided treatment, medication, and cleaned out his ears. Her son managed to take Yoshi in for four such treatments.

However, now the vet says that Yoshi needs a biopsy, which they cannot afford. They don’t want to put Yoshi out on the street or have him put down because they are very attached to him. Yoshi is a very loving and affectionate cat. They have been dealing with this ear infection for six months, with numerous vet visits and expenses.

Paula is a single mother with two children, one of whom is still a minor. Her son, who has diabetes, works but sometimes finds it difficult to manage both his job and his medical condition. Recently, with wage increases and both Paula’s and her son’s hours being cut back, they have been struggling financially. Their rent also increased by $150 more per month, adding more strain.

The good news is that Yoshi’s fundraiser is only for about $600. All donations for Yoshi’s surgery will be paid directly to the vet. With your support, Yoshi can get the biopsy he needs to live a happy, pain-free life. Below is a copy of the estimate for Yoshi’s surgery, click to enlarge it:
