About the Campaign
Little Willow is still at the Vet!
A good Samaritan managed to jump out of her care and catch Willow as Willow ran as fast as she could from a coyote! It was in Redlands, California (near San Bernardino) where coyotes do sometimes come into suburban areas.
When first caught and examined we believed Willow had been bitten on the face due to the bruising and apparent would around her eye. However, on thorough examination at Camino Animal Hospital in Irvine, it was determined that an abscessed (infected) tooth had spread up into her jaw to the eye. This is a potentially fatal condition, but the vet believes it has been caught (just like Willow) right in time!
In a way she is a very lucky little dog! She is not spayed, nor chipped, and appears to have had puppies before, so we are guessing she may have been used for breeding and then dumped when her condition got really bad. Fortunately, her being chased by that coyote ended well, and she was brought to Dream Fetchers rescue right away, and then we were able to determine that she had this dangerous nerve infection.
Vet Info:
We will have a written vet bill on Monday, September 17th, but for now we have a verbal estimate of about $1200 for her treatment and hospitalization, though that very well may increase.
If you are in the SoCal area and would be interested in fostering her, we are looking for a foster! She is a young dog, probably under 5 years old, and will be spayed during surgery.
All donations here are only for Willow, and will only be paid for her vet bills, thanks!!!
