About the Campaign
Urgent Tumor Surgery
Willow is a tiny 6-year-old, 6-pound Maltese who has been Michelle’s emotional support animal since 2018. Michelle and her daughter, Isabella, found Willow online from a breeder in Washington—she was the runt of the litter, exactly the one they wanted to bring into their family.
Just last Saturday, Michelle noticed a lump on Willow that seemed to be growing. A vet visit at the Oregon Humane Society Community Veterinary Hospital confirmed their worst fear: Willow has a mast cell tumor. These tumors can be very aggressive, and surgery to remove it is now the only way forward. For now, Willow is on Benadryl per the doctor’s recommendation and is still acting like her usual sweet self—but she urgently needs surgery to stay that way.
Michelle is in a difficult spot. She and Isabella are in the middle of moving back to Oregon after her husband relapsed into alcoholism. Michelle made the difficult decision to move without him in order to provide stability for her daughter and Willow. She has a new job lined up as an ophthalmic technician, but it didn’t begin until August 11th, and money is very tight. She simply cannot afford Willow’s surgery on her own.
Every donation will go directly to Willow’s veterinarian for her care. Smartly, Willow is getting treatment at the Oregon Humane Society, They are an excellent organization we have worked with many times. Great veterinary care, below market prices. Michelle has arranged everything properly and is contributing what she can, let’s get this tumor gone ASAP for Willow! Estimate below (click to enlarge):
