About the Campaign

Poor Pup Can Barely Breathe!

Wednesday is a 2.5-year-old French Bulldog who needs airway surgery to help her breathe properly and prevent more respiratory complications. She has a history of pneumonia and chronic breathing problems, and now she is snoring heavily again, struggling to sleep, and regurgitating when she eats. Her veterinarian says she now needs a repeat soft palate surgery, because as she grew, her airway issues worsened again.

Wednesday’s health problems started almost from the moment Lyndsay took her in. A family friend with several Frenchies said Wednesday had been found as a stray, though Lyndsay is not even sure that was true. What she does know is that Wednesday arrived sick—with bloody diarrhea and serious respiratory issues—and the original people could not handle her care. Lyndsay stepped in temporarily because she already had experience with a medically fragile Frenchie, but Wednesday quickly became hers for good.

Lyndsay was able to improve Wednesday’s digestive issues with proper food, but the breathing never fully got better. At one point, Wednesday woke up screaming in the night with pale gums and had to be rushed to the ER, where she was diagnosed with pneumonia. She was hospitalized, then needed intensive home care including steam treatments and a nebulizer. After another hospitalization and repeated cycles of getting better and worse, specialists finally found a rare bacteria and treated it with a specialized antibiotic. Wednesday improved, but because her airway structure was still contributing to infection risk, she underwent nares surgery and soft palate surgery around April 2024.

Now the symptoms are back. Since last July, Wednesday has been snoring badly again, sleeping poorly, regurgitating food, and even developed another respiratory infection. Lyndsay tried medications and other measures first, hoping to avoid more surgery, but nothing has made a meaningful difference. After multiple opinions and multiple estimates, she found the cheapest specialist she could, and on February 12, 2026, got the estimate confirming Wednesday needs this surgery redone.

Lyndsay is still carrying about $12,000 in CareCredit debt, much of it from caring for Wednesday and from losing her other dog, Remy, a 6-year-old male who passed away last July from a brain tumor. Insurance has not helped because it classified Wednesday’s respiratory issues as pre-existing. Lyndsay works in quality assurance for a manufacturing company, but her work is contract-based and unstable, and she is already paying about $2,000 a month toward CareCredit for previous bills!

Donations will help cover Wednesday’s airway surgery and related veterinary care so she can breathe, sleep, and eat more safely. All donations are paid only to the veterinarian. The estimate it below, click to enlarge:

I admire Lindsay’s willingness to carry such debt to care for these precious dogs. I encourage everyone who can to help cover the cost of the surgery for Wednesday.
