About the Campaign
Energetic senior kitty
needs dental surgery!
Ukee’s journey started as an emergency foster after she hitched a ride on a truck, ending up far from home. Debbie, her owner, had been working with a foster and volunteer program when Ukee arrived. With no luck finding her original owner, Ukee quickly bonded with Debbie’s own cat and became a “foster fail”—an adopted member of the family. Now, at 18 years old, Ukee is full of energy but recently faced a new challenge.
Ukee and Sataria:
Ukee’s best friend, another senior kitty named Sataria passed away at the end of last year. Since then Ukee became noticeably clingier to Debbie. Debbie, who’s been home on medical leave, thought it was simply Ukee adjusting to her loss. But trusting her instincts, Debbie took Ukee to the vet, where they discovered an abscess along her gumline. The vet recommended surgery to remove the abscess, drain it, and possibly extract a tooth.
Debbie has already spent $178 on the initial vet visit and painkillers to keep Ukee comfortable until her surgery on the 22nd. However, Debbie is not currently working. She has been dealing with heart issues since having COVID over the summer and does not have an income. While Ukee’s situation is not life-threatening, this surgery is vital for her long-term health and happiness.
Any contribution you make will go directly toward covering the cost of Ukee’s surgery, ensuring she can continue living her best, pain-free life. Below is the estimate, in Canadian dollars. With the small savings Debbie has, about $1000 US is all that is needed to make a big impact on Ukee’s quality of life.

Thank you so so so much to those of you that have donated! This has been amazing and has really helped me be able to ensure that I can do preop bloodwork <3. As a senior kitty, we did not want to go without, but I didn’t know if I could afford it those if you’re reading this will see that is why it is at zero on the quote. Ukee is currently curled up with me on her pain killers, and she says thank you too <3

Just wanted to update everybody now that it’s been a couple of weeks! Ukee is pretty much back to normal :). The vet ended up having to take three teeth out actually. One of them because of the abscess, one of them was actually starting to disintegrate inside of the gumline, and I forget why is the third one but I remember it was something about the quality because of the tooth beside it.
With the donations from here, I was able to run the bloodwork. That was an extra expensive cost. And I’m grateful because it turns out that she has high values for some of it and we are now going to keep an eye on it.
Thank you again to those that have helped and I look forward to repaying it in the future
