About the Campaign
Painful Hernia and Dental Surgery
Trixie, a 10-year-old Toy Poodle, urgently needs medical care. She may have a dangerous diaphragm hernia that causes her pain when she’s picked up. On top of this, her teeth are badly affected by gingivitis, leaving her gums bleeding whenever she eats. She needs both an exam and X-rays to confirm the hernia and a dental cleaning to stop her mouth pain.
Her longtime vet has quoted $580 just to get started with the hernia exam, blood work, and X-rays. Meanwhile, Mountain View Humane has agreed to do her dental cleaning for $300. Together, this adds up to nearly $900—far more than Jessica, her owner, can manage right now.
Jessica has had Trixie since 2015, when her family gave her the little Poodle as a gift after she had to rehome her beloved Rottweiler due to apartment rules. Trixie has been by her side ever since. But Jessica lives on a fixed disability income and struggles to cover her own housing and medical needs while also caring for her two other dogs, Dixie and Cricket, who both have special health issues of their own. What little she has usually goes toward their food and medication.
Trixie still has her sweet spirit, but she is in pain and urgently needs this care to improve her quality of life. With your help, she can breathe easier, eat without bleeding, and live her golden years in comfort. All donations will go directly to her veterinarians. One estimate below, click to enlarge:

I know how hard it is to take care of our sweet babies when they get sick and need extensive vet care.

Thank you for the donation. It is an unreal struggle living on a disability check trying to raise, support, & love your fur babies. I would rather go from organization to organization & tell my struggle story than to chance rehoming my babies with anyone wealthy who might mistreat them & not treat them like their own children. My happiness isnt what is wealth & fancy but life taking care of & cleaning behind animals is my key to happiness & I could do that till my dying day

Me too. I can’t take much bad luck with my furry babies health & all of my personal run of bad luck. Have done had to have a plumber come take care of water problems, then put my car in the shop for gas lines that had rusted in two, & then turned around & lost my cell phone in one week on top of dealing with my babies health issues, taking care of a couple friends, making time to volunteer, & try to take care of my own health enough to stay going. Feel like I go 24/7 with no rest sometimes.
