About the Campaign

Soft Tissue Sarcoma

A Malignant Tumor on her leg

To eliminate any possible spread, her leg must be amputated

Sweet little Tootsie had owners who neglected her. She had terrible skin issues, dental issues, her nails were completely curled and was flea-infested. Then one day, her owners just decided they no longer wanted her!

Luckily she ended up with a SCARS, SoCal Animal Rescue Squad, who placed her in foster care and dodged the shelter. When the rescue group took her to their vet to examine her, they noticed a growth on one of her little legs. They performed a needle aspiration and did further testing to determine if the growth was a matter of concern.

The test results confirmed that the growth was a malignant tumor; a soft tissue sarcoma. The only way to ensure the cancer will not spread and not return is to completely amputate her leg.

Tootsie has been cleared for surgery and has a bright and healthy future ahead of her as a cute little tri-pod. Once she is all healed up, she will be available for adoption. In our experience three legged dogs do very well, and have a normal, happy life, and are even easier to find homes for sometimes! So if she can get her surgery, Tootsie will be just fine.

She’s a sweet and spunky girl who will bring a family lots of love and joy. The rescue group is made up of volunteers that rely on public support and donations. Your contribution will help them tremendously. All donations will be paid in full to SCARS for Tootsie’s care. Sweet little Tootsie sends you all her love and appreciation.
