About the Campaign

Tijuana Tokyo!

This sweet girl was rescued stray off the streets of Tijuana Mexico as a 10 month-old puppy. She went into foster care here in the US, but was not getting along with the foster’s cat. Fortunately her owner-to-be, Wendy, heard about the situation, and took Tokyo in… fell in love, and then adopted her!

Then about a year later Tokyo started limping. A visit to the vet showed that she had torn her ACL, a ligament in the knee, and would need surgery. This type of injury will not heal naturally, and pittbull type breeds are one of the types of dog prone to this injury.

Tokyo had her procedure last year, and it cost Wendy over $5000.00 in total. But unfortunately, Tokyo now needs this procedure on her other leg. This is actually very common… dogs that tear the ligament in one leg, often tear the other. It is also a potential problem, because now Tokyo is putting almost no weight on her right leg (because it hurts!), this could lead to re-damaging her left leg. So, it is important that she get this corrective surgery soon!!

Tokyo is just 2 years-old and has a long, happy life ahead of her! Wendy fosters other dogs for rescue, and Tokyo is friendly with them… she is also great with kids, you can see her relaxing here with Wendy’s nephew Santiago:

This sweet pittie has come a long way, from a stray on the streets of Tijuana, to a great home here in the US. Let’s get her out of pain and outside running and playing happily again! She did great with her first surgery and will surely do well on this last necessary procedure. Wendy works as a care-giver, and though she was able to get the money together for the first procedure, she understandably just cannot afford this second $5000 surgery bill!

Remember, all donations are only for Tokyo and are only paid to the vet. If you can help Tokyo, please donate in confidence today!
