About the Campaign

Bleeding Tumor

Titus is a 10-year-old male Siberian Husky who needs surgery to remove a mass that has been bleeding. His veterinarian performed a cytology and said it did not appear cancerous, but still strongly recommended removal—especially because it has already bled and could worsen or become harder to treat if it grows.

Josie first found the mass on Sunday, March 1, while cleaning Titus after he used the bathroom. Because of his thick fur, they routinely help keep him clean, and that’s when they noticed he was bleeding. One episode wouldn’t stop, which is what pushed them to get him to the vet. Even with reassuring test results, the message was clear: this needs to come off sooner rather than later.

Titus has been part of Josie’s family since 2015, when her dad, Ceaser, surprised them with a puppy as a Valentine’s gift. He was their very first family dog—completely unexpected. They had talked about dog names, but never about actually getting one, so Titus arriving for free from a family friend’s litter felt like a little miracle. Titus grew up with Josie and her two brothers and has always been “their dog,” the steady presence in the home.

Now, for the first time, Titus needs a procedure they never anticipated. Josie is trying to handle this herself, but money is tight. She works part-time at Starbucks as a barista, and her younger brother isn’t working. Her mom, Melinda, can’t take on the cost right now because the family is already dealing with serious medical expenses for Josie’s dad, who has been in and out of the ER with shortness of breath and swelling around his rib cage and needs continued testing.

Josie wants to do the responsible thing and remove the mass before it turns into a bigger emergency. Titus has been healthy his whole life, and this came out of nowhere—but now that it’s here, Josie doesn’t want to gamble with bleeding episodes or the risk of it worsening.

Donations will help cover Titus’ surgery and related veterinary care to remove the mass and keep him safe and comfortable. All donations are paid only to the veterinarian. Estimate below, click to enlarge:
