Recurring Tumor

Last year, Tinkie faced a big health challenge: a malignant mammary gland tumor. It was removed successfully, and her family hoped the worst was behind them. But just a few months ago, Angela found another lump in the same area during Tinkie’s routine paw wipe after a walk. The tumor has returned.

Tinkie is a 13-year-old Chihuahua-Yorkie mix who has been part of Angela and Jay’s family since 2012. When Jay was preparing to deploy with the Army, the couple chose Tinkie from a litter of puppies. She was the quiet little one sitting in the corner, and they knew right away she was meant to be theirs.

X-rays thankfully show that the cancer has not spread, but surgery is urgently needed to remove the tumor and spay Tinkie to reduce the risk of more growths. The estimate for her procedure is $1,580. Angela can contribute $500, but with reduced work hours, medical bills for a sick relative, and the needs of their three young daughters, the family cannot cover the rest on their own.

Tinkie is a beloved member of this family, always there through the big milestones—from Jay’s Army service to raising their kids together. Now she needs help to get through this fight.
