About the Campaign

Tiger is a female cat with serious medical concerns, including very bad breath, possible dental disease, and signs of pain when she is picked up or handled. She may also have arthritis or another orthopedic problem, but she needs a full veterinary exam, bloodwork, dental evaluation, and likely X-rays to know what is really going on.

Tiger was found in an industrial area, lying there extremely sick and weak. A 7-year-old child who attends an after-school program nearby saw her and refused to leave until someone helped. His father contacted rescuers, and Christine stepped in. Tiger was not feral. In fact, she was friendly and followed Christine to the car, as if she knew this was her chance to get out.

So far, Tiger has been vaccinated and tested, and she is FIV positive. Christine also thinks Tiger may be deaf, because she does not seem to react to sound, only to touch. What has not been fully checked yet is her mouth, her pain, and her overall health. Her breath is very bad, and the way she reacts when handled makes Christine think something is hurting.

This fundraiser is for Tiger, but it also helps the independent rescue work behind her. Christine fosters and rescues cats on her own, often working with Jan Karem and paying expenses out of pocket. Right now she has multiple fosters, including two FIV-positive cats and four kittens she has not been able to place. She gets calls constantly, does TNR, pays for vaccines when vouchers are not available, and puts whatever extra money she has into helping cats.

Christine works in skin care sales and can cover her own bills, but not major medical care for every rescued cat who comes through. Tiger needs more than basic help. Donations will help cover her full exam, bloodwork, dental evaluation, X-rays, pain medication, and any needed treatment so this abandoned, friendly cat can finally be safe and comfortable. All donations are paid only to the veterinarian. Vet estimate is below, click to enlarge:
