About the Campaign
Needs to see the vet!
Sparkle is a 12-year-old Siamese who’s suddenly not herself. Over the past three weeks, she’s stopped eating like she normally does, has been lying around, and has lost a lot of weight. Dawn is scared Sparkle is fading in front of her.
With a senior cat, this kind of change can’t wait. Sparkle needs a veterinary exam and diagnostic testing to figure out what’s going on and to start treatment as soon as possible.
Dawn has loved Sparkle for 11 years. She first met her while working at a veterinary clinic, after someone dumped a litter of stray kittens on the street. All the kittens found homes—except Sparkle. Dawn couldn’t leave her behind, so she brought her home. Since then, Sparkle’s been the quiet, beautiful constant in a busy little cat household.
Dawn and her longtime partner, Tom, are doing their best to keep things together on a fixed income. Tom is retired and receives Social Security. Dawn has been out of work since May. They’ve already experienced how quickly veterinary costs can add up—last year they spent over $300 trying to help another beloved cat before having to say goodbye.
Now Sparkle needs help. Donations will go toward Sparkle’s veterinary visit and the testing needed to diagnose the cause of her weight loss and appetite change, and then to begin whatever treatment the veterinarian recommends. All donations are paid only to the veterinarian. Sparkle doesn’t need much and it could make a big difference!
