Little rescue girl has a

mixed up mess of teeth.

Little Skye came in to Soul2Soul rescue in Oregon from another rescue that didn’t have room. Skye had been given up by her owner, who could not care for her, and needed a place to go! She’s super cute, and just a year-old, so she is totally adoptable, but Skye has a rather serious dental problem.

First off, some of her baby teeth have not fallen out, they are impacted in her mouth, and have to be removed surgically. Then there is another problem, her mouth is not shaped right. You can’t tell from the outside, but her lower canine teeth (the two big ones) don’t line up properly and instead they poke the top of her mouth.

This has already cause sores at the top plate of her mouth (the palate), but the real concern is that in addition to being painful, this could eventually lead to an infection and even a puncture through the roof of the mouth into the nasal area. Simple solution, just gotta lose the bottom two canine teeth, the top two can remain.

Soul2Soul has taken in a number of dogs with medical needs recently, including a few that were supposed to be healthy, so there are some unexpected expenses, and they are a small, rural rescue. In short, they need help! All donations are specifically for the rescue for Skye to get her dental work. This little girl will get adopted once she is fixed up, so your donation isn’t just helping her health, it is quite literally going to get her a good home too!
