About the Campaign

Feral cat turns domesticated

This little dude was in a feral cat colony at May’s work. One day the cat, Sharky, got stuck in someone car engine and May was able to catch Sharky. He did live in May’s bathroom for a month until he was calm enough to live in the house. May did her best to make sure he didn’t have too much wet food and ate good kibble.

Words from the vet

“Please accept these photos and estimate from Pet Crusade on behalf of Marcie Flowers for her cat Sharkey.  Pet Crusade has performed an exam and determined an infection in Sharkey’s mouth and that a full mouth dental extraction is necessary.  Sutures and xrays may be necessary and take home pain medication and antibiotics will also be prescribed.  At this time we are able to state that the procedure at our low cost would be no less than $1175. ”

No quality of life

May is very upset about Sharky. She is recovering from cancer and doesn’t have the funds to pay for his extractions. Sharky isn’t able to sleep on May’s pillow anymore and is put in the laundry room at night because of his drooling. May just wants Sharky to have the best quality of life. She knows he has so much more life in him and she doesn’t want him to suffer anymore.

Sharky has acted as a very loving and loyal therapy cat to May!!

I’ve had two cats that have had to had teeth pulled. I’ve watched them go through the pain and agony. One of them had to go in twice and after that I could not afford any more surgeries so I had to put her to sleep.

So what has happened to Sharky? Why are you no longer accepting donations? Did you have him put to sleep?
