About the Campaign

Shadow is an 8-year-old male cat whose last fundraiser helped him get the medical care he desperately needed. When Shadow first showed up in Lisa and Robert’s yard, he was suffering from a severe facial abscess, painful dental disease (including suspected stomatitis), and widespread skin issues that left bald patches across his body.

Thanks to supporters and the veterinary care that followed, Shadow was able to get extensive dermatology treatment and recover enough that he’s now strong and stable for the next big step: finally taking care of his teeth properly. Dental disease can keep a cat in chronic pain and can fuel inflammation and infection throughout the body. Now that Shadow’s overall health is improved, this is the moment to finish what we started—get him a full dental cleaning and any extractions he needs so he can eat comfortably and stay well long-term.

Lisa and Robert didn’t just “find a stray.” They’ve been steadily helping the cats around them for years, and Shadow was one of the ones who needed help most. A shelter even refused to neuter him early on because he was too sick, and his condition was so severe that euthanasia was suggested—yet Lisa and Robert kept fighting for him anyway.

They’re also continuing that same work beyond Shadow. Lisa and Robert care for multiple feral/community cats on their property and are actively working to spay and neuter the colony and find homes for any cats who can be socialized and adopted. It’s a lot to take on financially, and Shadow’s dental care is the urgent piece right in front of them now.

Donations will help cover Shadow’s veterinary dental procedure (exam, anesthesia, dental cleaning, X-rays if needed, and extractions as recommended) so he can be free of mouth pain and continue the healthy progress he’s already made.
