About the Campaign
Rotted teeth baby!
Sammy, a tiny 6-pound, 12-year-old Yorkie, urgently needs dental surgery to remove rotted teeth that are now threatening his overall health. If not treated, the infection could spread to his heart and kidneys—something that often happens with untreated dental disease in older dogs.
Sammy’s owner, Shelby, first noticed his breath worsening and saw he was having trouble eating, even whining in pain. Over a year ago, a vet confirmed Sammy’s teeth were badly infected and needed surgery. But Shelby couldn’t afford it at the time, and now the situation is critical.
When she was a child Shelby rescued Sammy. He had run away from a neglectful home, to her house where she lived with her grandmother. Shelby had lost her parents, her mom died when she was only three. She and grandma worked with Sammy’s owner to arrange adopting him, and Sammy became Shelby’s best, and only friend!
Sammy has been with Shelby through foster homes, relocations, and difficult times—he is her emotional support animal and her constant source of love and comfort.
Today, Shelby is living in a hotel with her one-year-old child and is expecting another baby in just five weeks. Her boyfriend works construction, but on their limited income, they cannot cover Sammy’s needed surgery. Care Credit was declined, and without help, Sammy’s condition will only worsen.
Sammy’s dental disease is treatable, and with surgery, he can eat comfortably again and avoid life-threatening complications. Your donation will go directly to Eastside Veterinary to help save this little dog’s life and ease Shelby’s burden.

Good luck Sammy. You remind me of my Porkie, Bitty, I lost last year to old age. He was 16 and the love of my life. I miss him daily so much and I’m hoping you get better and live many more years with your person.
