About the Campaign

An alternative to

knee surgery!

Sadie was the runt of the litter, rescued in Texas about six years ago. The people who had her separated her from her mother too soon, and fed her adult food. Fortunately she was adopted by Maribel, and has been in a good home since then. She does have some digestive and health issues from that time, but is a pretty healthy, if a bit overweight girl!

Last week she was limping, so Maribel took her to the doctor. She has a torn ligament in her knee, and this will not get better with time or rest. Usually, most doctors recommend an expensive surgery called TPLO to stabilize the knee.

Sadie’s doctor had recently been to a veterinary conference, and has been studying alternatives to this surgery. Sadie’s ligament is slightly, not fully torn, so this may be a good alternative for her. The company “My Pet’s Brace” makes customized braces, and the doctor recommend this for Sadie.

Maribel’s other dog Chipper has been very sick, and all her money has gone to Chipper’s treatment, so to afford this brace Sadie needs our help! All donations are specifically for Sadie to get this brace, which is $899 and then the $50 fee for casting it specifically for her leg.
