About the Campaign

Little cutie got a foxtail in her paw!

Foxtails are dried little seeds from a type of weed, very common in California. They dry, and have little burrs on them, and can burrow into the skin. This is what happened to Sadie.

Nicole adopted Sadie from the shelter 7 years ago. Sadie came into the shelter with puppies, and the puppies got adopted, so Nicole took Sadie home! Last week Sadie was licking her rear paw a lot, and Nicole saw a blister. She tried treating it at home, but it only got worse. A visit to the doctor over the weekend revealed it was a foxtail embedded under the skin between her toes!

The only way to help her was surgery and anesthesia, and that is expensive. Nicole is a member of the WGA, the writers who are on strike, and this is a difficult time financially. Fortunately she had pet insurance which covered about 1/2 the cost, but $305 is still due. If you would like to help little Sadie, please consider a donation, thank you!

Foxtails are the worst! Our dog Smudge had a run it with one of them so I know how this could go. Feel better Sadie!
