About the Campaign
Roxy cannot breathe well,
there is a hole in her upper mouth
Roxy had surgery to fix this last year, but the hole has either “returned” OR there is another one. Surgery has been scheduled because her breathing is getting very labored and she already went to the ER once, so donations are needed urgently. See the video above and the one below:
This very sweet and active little dog was rescued two years ago by Silvia. She was older, about eight, and had bad teeth. No one was adopting her from the shelter. Silvia felt bad for her and took her home! That simple. She then spent about $500 getting her teeth cleaned and some other care.
In February of this year Roxy went back to the vet to renew her vaccinations, and the vet noticed some loose teeth. Then, on more detailed examination the doctor noticed that Roxy had an Oronasal Fistula: a hole through the gums where one of her teeth used to be that extends into the nose area. Besides being painful, this can get infected and become a real big problem.
Since Roxy is getting older, at about 10 years-old, it is best to do this surgery now. If this problem continues it could lead to a serious nasal infection, and other problems, and the older Roxy gets the more risky any surgery is, and it takes a stronger toll on her.
The family is low income, and just cannot afford this procedure for little Roxy. All donations are for her surgery and will go so far in making her feel better! If you can donate to help Roxy get the dental surgery she needs, please donate in confidence today!
