About the Campaign

Roscoe got himself a bad knee!

To be specific, Rosco tore his ACL, a ligament in the knee, and in dogs this will not heal on its own. Rosco needs surgery to be out of pain and able to walk normally, and to run again!

Rosco is only a year-old, and when he was a puppy his mom Darlene rescued him from the Devore animal shelter near San Bernardino, CA. Below is a picture from when Darlene got him from the shelter:

Since then he has been a great dog, but on September 13th, when Darlene came home, he was limping. She took him to the vet the next day spending about $200 on xrays and an exam, and the doctor gave her the bad news. Sometimes these larger dogs have a weak knee as a birth defect, and that is almost certainly what happened in Rosco’s case…. it was just an injury waiting to happen at the slightest wrong jump or step.

The procedure to fix this is called TPLO surgery (read about it here) and this is expensive. Darlene doesn’t have a lot of available money, and though she did apply for Care Credit she only got a line of $500. All donations are only paid to the vet for Rosco, not to owner, and are tax-deductible. Can you donate to help Rosco walk again today?
