About the Campaign
A good girl in a
difficult situation!
Raksha has been bouncing house to house, protecting her owner Amanda. Raksha is confused and frustrated, but a good girl. It is not her fault, the situation she is in, and her reactions are totally normal. She can be helped and get used to her environment but needs professional help and training.
Amanda has postural orthostatic tachycardia syndrome (referred to as POTS), a problem with the nervous system that can cause fainting, fast heart rate, and other issues. Raksha is a source of emotional support, but also helps Amanda get up and down, and is trained to mitigate falling when Amanda faints. Raksha is smart, and protective of her owner.
Unfortunately, due to Amanda’s condition, Raksha has had to move around. Currently they are living at her sister’s house, and Raksha is having trouble adjusting. Raksha gets anxiety if Amanda as to leave the home without her, and chewed up the new fence around the home recently and got out. She is fine with the family’s three small dogs, but has reacted badly to friends who visit with their dogs. And she barks at the neighbors a lot!
Amanda’s brother-in-law has laid down an ultimatum, Raksha has to get better, or she has to go. Amanda has a very good trainer lined up. We have talked with them, and they are confident that Raksha will improve significantly with training. They also are very much on board with the cause, and want to help Amanda and keep her and Raksha together. They have discounted the training $2000. It does require a lot of work, with Raksha staying at their facility, but also doing training together with Amanda and in the home.
This campaign is a bit different than most that we do, but the goal is the same: keep a good dog in a good home when the only problem is money. Amanda and Raksha are dedicated to each other, the trainer comes well recommended, but Amanda is disabled and just does not have the funds needed to get Raksha what she needs. All donations here are held by us for Raksha and paid only to the trainer for Raksha. A copy of the training bill is below, you can click on it to enlarge it.

Hope this helps her and how much to train brother-in-law!
