About the Campaign

This beautiful gal is Quinn. Quinn is a super active, loving, 8 year old Boxer mix and she could really use your help!
What Happened?
About a month ago, while enjoying one of her daily walks, Quinn collapsed and passed out on the floor. Her eyes were barely open, her breathing was rapid and shallow, and poor Quinn looked so far gone. Her owner, Jason immediately sought help and ended up getting a clear diagnosis from Dr Ebbling at the Laurel Pet Hospital in West Hollywood. X-rays showed that Quinn’s heart seamed to be abnormally large. Later, it was confirmed that there was a collection of fluid surrounding her heart. This is reducing the amount of air going to her lungs and as a result a lack of oxygen to her blood stream.

What Now?

Quinn desperately needs an ekocardiogram or EKG in order to determine exactly where all the liquid is collecting and give veterinarians a better sense of the next steps to come. Quinn has done a pericardiosentisis (manually extracting some of the fluid) multiple times but this is only a bandaid on the problem. The sooner Quinn gets this EKG, the sooner she can get the surgery she needs!
Backstory

Quinn and Jason came together at a time where Jason needed a companion the most. Jason had just found out that he was HIV positive and this news left him in a very dark place. A couple weeks after, his roommate brought home a beautiful little puppy and told him that she might bring him purpose if he felt that he had lost his. Quinn became the reason Jason gets out of bed in the morning, his dark days became lighter and lighter and Quinn refuses to let Jason slip away. “She insists on thriving, being curious about life and wanting to engage in it and as her companion I can only agree with her.” Jason says.

What can you do ?!
Unfortunately, Jason doesn’t have the funding to cover the EKG and surgery costs. With his own medical bills and Quinn’s current treatment. He’s received assistance from Paws/LA with paying for tests and initial diagnosis. However because Quinn’s condition demands much more care, they don’t have the resources to continue giving her the financial assistance.

An EKG is quite an expensive test and that’s just step 1 for Quinn. In these cases we believe a little bit helps a whole lot! Any donation amount would help get Quinn closer and closer to the care she needs. We appreciate your support and most of all Quinn does too.
