A tooth infection is spreading,

now out around her mouth!

Princess has an abscess, and infection in her gums. Her teeth are bad, and there is a gum infection. It is now swelling out to her cheek and is visible under her eye, as you can see in the photo below:

The doctor has provided temporary treatment, but she needs dental surgery urgently. She’s going to have to have a lot of teeth removed, and get surgery on her gums to clean up the infection, but she will be ok after that.

Princess is an older Chihuahua at 14 years, and the breed has these kinds of dental issues. Fortunately she is otherwise healthy, and is OK for surgery according to the doctor. Her owner, Lucinda got her about 12 years ago from a post on Craigslist. Not for sale, but a lady had rescued her and needed help!

Princess was being abused, her owner would yell at her and mistreat her, and the neighbor saw her put out cigarettes on Princess’s leg! In fact, 12 years later she still has one of the marks and the fur has never grown back! Picture below:

So the neighbor rescued her, but could not keep her and had posted on Craigslist for someone to adopt Princess, which Lucinda did. Lucinda has taken care of Princess for the last 12 years, and taken her to the vet regularly and all of that, but in late 2020 Lucinda got COVID and was one of the people who had continuing symptoms, so called “long-haul” COVID or long-COVID.

She has been on disability and unable to work until just recently, when she has finally made some improvements and started getting back to normal life and work. At this time she just does not have the money to pay for the full surgery, and the doctor says Princess’s dental work cannot wait long!

The abscess has been slowed with medications, but it will get worse. Princess needs surgery soon. All donations are only for her, and only paid to the vet when the surgery is performed. Can you help Princess with a SHARE and a DONATION today?
