About the Campaign

Severe Dental Disease!

Princess is a 10-year-old female Chihuahua who weighs just 3 pounds, and she needs a full dental extraction—every tooth. Her veterinarian has already advised that her dental disease is so severe that removal is the only real way to stop the pain, prevent infection, and help her feel comfortable again.

Marie first noticed Princess’ dental problems a couple of years ago, and since then some of Princess’ teeth have broken off, which is often a sign of advanced dental disease. Last year, when Marie took Princess to the vet for a skin allergy, she asked about her mouth too. That’s when the vet confirmed the bad news: Princess’ teeth are beyond saving, and she needs a complete extraction.

Princess came into Marie’s life about five years ago through a cousin’s connection. Someone was moving and couldn’t care for her anymore. Marie wasn’t looking for another dog, but she couldn’t ignore a little dog who needed someone to step up. She took Princess in and has cared for her ever since.

The obstacle now is the cost. Marie is disabled and lives on a fixed income. She rents a back house behind her daughter’s home, and there isn’t room in her budget for a major dental procedure. Marie has lived with rheumatoid arthritis since she was 25 and has severe lung disease—COPD and emphysema—and uses oxygen. She has been disabled for 11 years, and she shared that she simply can’t save money because every dollar goes to basic living expenses and medical needs.

Princess is tiny, older, and already dealing with broken teeth—this is not something that can wait indefinitely. Dental infections can spread, make eating painful, and seriously impact overall health. The goal is simple: remove the diseased teeth, eliminate chronic pain, and give Princess a comfortable mouth again.

Donations will help cover Princess’ full dental extraction and related veterinary care so she can eat comfortably and live without constant oral pain. All donations are paid only to the veterinarian. Estimate below, click to enlarge:

In memory of my late chihuahua, Brownie. They look so similar. I hope Princess gets the surgery so she can experience less pain and is comfortable for the rest of her life. ❤️
