About the Campaign
Months of pain,
but her eye can be saved!
Pixie is a sweet 5-year-old American Shorthair who’s been battling a painful eye ulcer for the past three months. Despite multiple vet visits, medications, and constant care, her condition hasn’t improved. An eye specialist has now confirmed that surgery is the only option to save her eye—and relieve her of the pain she’s been living with for far too long.
Pixie’s journey started when she was just a kitten, given away on the Nextdoor app after an unexpected litter. That’s when Chase stepped in to give her a home—and they’ve been inseparable ever since.
One night, Chase was watching TV when he looked over and thought Pixie’s eye had fallen out. Terrified, he rushed her to an emergency vet the next morning. It turned out to be a severe infection, but treatment after treatment didn’t help. After months of trying, $1,500 in vet bills, and finally seeing a specialist, it’s clear that surgery is the only way forward.
Chase works in education as a parent educator in special ed—but with school out for the summer, he has no income right now. He’s already used up all his savings for Pixie’s care and is putting in the last $400 he has. His family is doing what they can, but with two other cats and household bills, there’s just no way to cover the cost of surgery alone.
Pixie’s condition is treatable—but only with surgery. The doctor says the eye and sight can be saved! Your donation will help get her the procedure she urgently needs to recover and live pain-free. All funds go directly to her veterinary care. Estimate below:
