Sweet boy needs his SECOND surgery!
His owners already paid for leg #1,
but now it is time for his other rear leg!
Sweet boy Parker was the runt of the litter when Beverly adopted him as a baby. She applied for health insurance for him at that time, but he was diagnosed with birth defects in both knees, so the insurance was declined.
The doctor said surgery was not necessary when a puppy, but would probably be needed when Parker grew up, but to wait and see. Well, a little over a year ago he had to have surgery on his left leg. At the time the doctor said surgery would almost certainly be needed on the right leg as well, but to wait. It takes time and rehab to recover from TPLO surgery (knee repair) and most often one leg is done at a time.
The first surgery and rehab cost about $8000.00, and shortly afterwards Beverly’s husband required kidney surgery, a transplant, and had a long recovery himself. All of this delayed the second surgery, and set Beverly back financially. But recently Parker is holding his leg up all the time, licking his knee (clearly it hurts), and hardly will walk anywhere. He needs his second surgery.
Beverly and her husband are in their late 60’s, they both still work, but their own health issues and the first $8000 on Parker has set them back. In addition, Parker requires monthly medication for allergies that can be very severe. So Parker needs everyone’s help to pay for his second surgery and rehab (included in the estimate). When you donate through Free Animal Doctor it is like you are giving Parker the money, because we hold it and ONLY pay the vet clinic when the surgery is performed. We never pay the owner, and we only pay for the procedure! If you can help Parker, please donate in confidence today!
