About the Campaign

Otis was the last of the litter. No one wanted him because he was weird, kind of like the runt, but with long legs that were really too long. So Denise took him, and he has been a great dog for many years! Last year a tumor grew up on the top of his right eye.

Denise took him to her vet, and they did surgery to remove it. But then in about 6 months, the tumor came back. We think it may be that Otis’s first surgery was not properly done. The time the doctor treated Otis with a cycle of antibiotics first, and scheduled him for surgery. But on the day of the surgery, the doctor changed her mind, telling Denise that she didn’t feel comfortable to do the procedure, and instead referred Otis out to a specialist.

So, Denise got Otis to his specialist, who can do the procedure and says it is urgent to do because the tumor could rupture, as it is getting bigger. But unfortunately the cost is up to $3500, and Denise simply does not have that money or the credit available. Denise and her husband are both on disability, with income of only $1300 a month. The first surgery cost nearly $1000, and then there have been the costs with the specialist so far. Otis’s family is just not going to be able to get the money together for his surgery, even though it is urgent, unless he gets substantial donations!

All donations here are for Otis only, and will only be paid to the specialist for his surgery. If you can help Otis get the surgery he needs, please consider a donation today, thank you!
