Urgent Dental Surgery

for a Severe Infection

Recently, Oliver’s groomer noticed his lymph nodes were swollen. A vet visit confirmed a severe mouth infection, and he desperately needs dental surgery, including extractions, to stop the infection from spreading. He’s already on medication, but Marcia simply cannot afford the costly treatment he needs to fully recover.

Oliver, a sweet 12-year-old poodle mix, has been a cherished part of Marcia and also Sonia’s lives for years. Originally belonging to Marcia’s best friend, Oliver came to her care when his owner struggled with alcohol recovery. Tragically, just as she was ready to take him back, she passed away unexpectedly. Since then, Oliver has been a constant companion—first to Marcia, and now to Sonia, who has grown deeply attached to him, especially as she begins to struggle with dementia.

Marcia has had an incredibly difficult few years. In 2021, she was diagnosed with stage 3 uterine cancer while recovering from a car accident. She underwent chemotherapy and radiation, all while trying to keep up with bills. She hasn’t been able to return to work since. As a single mom who has always put others before herself—whether it was supporting a friend through college or fostering Oliver when he had nowhere else to go—she’s now in a position where she truly needs help.

Oliver has already endured so much, including a past injury from another dog that injured his back, leaving him unable to lift his leg properly, though he can get around just fine. But despite it all, he’s remained a loyal and loving companion. Losing him now would be devastating for Sonia, who depends on his presence more than ever.
