About the Campaign
This little guy has got to have his teeth fixed!
Odin was adopted by Blanca about two years ago. He was a rescue from The Bunny Bunch, a rabbit rescue in California. When Blanca adopted him she knew we was blind in one eye, but it later turned out that Odin had more serious health issues.
About two months after she had adopted him, Odin developed a very bad ear infection. Removal of the entire internal ear canal was one possibility, but in the end a procedure was done to insert a drain, and clean out the ear, and this procedure worked! This cost over $3000 (in part because a CT-Scan was required), and Blanca paid for most of that with a Care Credit loan.
Odin during his ear surgery:
Recently Odin has been drooling excessively. A visit to the vet and a number of tests concluded that the roots of some of Odin’s teeth are malformed. Odin’s regular vet referred him out to a dental specialist in Pasadena, and the specialist concluded that all of the teeth on Odin’s lower-left must be removed. The roots of these teeth are not properly formed, nor properly growing, and will repeatedly become infected. Eventually this will rot the jaw bone and destroy Odin’s jaw.
The best solution is to just remove this improperly formed teeth. Odin will still have most of his teeth, and be able to eat. He will be out of pain (already he is not eating normally), and the eventual damage and destruction of his jawbone will be prevented.
Financial situation
Blanca lost her job as a para-educator due to school closures from COVID. She decided to change careers and enrolled in nursing school, and put her money into tuition. She is still paying off Odin’s previous surgery on Care Credit, and has no more access to credit. All donations here are only for Odin, and will only be paid to Exotic Animal Veterinary Center for his procedure. Free Animal Doctor always pays the veterinarian directly, not the owner! If you can help this sweet little rabbit get out of pain and save his jaw, would you please make a donation today?
