About the Campaign

Urgent Case!

Nash is a 4-year-old male orange American Shorthair who has a large tumor in his chest suspected to be a thymoma. Before his veterinary team can safely plan treatment, Nash urgently needs a CT scan to determine the exact size and location of the mass and guide next steps. Without that imaging, there’s no clear path forward—and Nash’s breathing is already being affected.

Nash’s crisis began on December 30, when Morgan rushed him to an emergency clinic because he was breathing hard. Doctors drained a large amount of fluid from around his lungs (hundreds of milliliters), and the first concern was heart disease. But further specialty workup revealed the real cause: a chest mass. By mid-January, after additional testing and pathology, the specialists told Morgan the tumor’s location and findings were most consistent with thymoma.

Morgan has already spent about $3,500–$4,000 just getting Nash to a diagnosis. She has worked incredibly hard to keep going—saving about $6,000 herself and securing another $2,000 through Scratchpay—because she refuses to give up on him. But the CT scan alone is quoted at around $3,500, and it comes on top of everything that follows: additional testing (including sending fluid out for further analysis), the surgery itself, and potentially a multi-day hospital stay with medications and recovery care.

Nash is not “just a cat” in Morgan’s home—he’s her soul cat. She adopted Nash and his brother, Indie, through Nashville Cats Rescue after a roommate tipped her off that orange kittens were available. Morgan had grown up with orange cats and always wanted two of her own. She adopted Nash first, then couldn’t stop thinking about his brother—so she went back the next day and brought Indie home too. They were both sick when she got them, and she nursed them through it. Since then, Nash has been her shadow: the cat who sleeps on her chest, greets her after showers, talks to her like he has opinions, and makes every day feel less lonely.

Financially, Morgan is tapped out. She recently started a new job as a liquor representative and is barely keeping up with bills while living alone. She has already used up her savings to get Nash this far, and there isn’t a cheaper local option that won’t require starting the entire testing process over again. The truth is: Morgan has done everything a person can do—she’s just reached the edge of what one person can pay.

Donations will help cover Nash’s CT scan and required diagnostic steps so his specialists can confirm the tumor’s details and move forward with the safest treatment plan. All donations are paid only to the veterinarian. Estimate below, click to enlarge:
