About the Campaign

Surgery is required,

this will not heal on its own.

About a month ago Nala, who is a young dog of 3 years, started limping on her rear leg. Her family hadn’t seen any trauma, like a fall or some twist of her leg, so at first they thought it might go away… maybe a still muscle or she pulled something, somehow.

But it just got worse, so Nala ended up at the veterinarian’s. There x-rays revealed she had torn her ACL, a ligament in the knee. This condition, especially when severe as in Nala’s case, can only be corrected with surgery.

Nala’s family found her at an empty house three years ago. The house was being prepared to be sold, and Nala was discovered hiding under the home, whimpering. How she got there is a mystery. She was only about 12 weeks old, and all by herself.

Financial situation

This summer Nala’s owner was injured at work when an air conditioning unit he was installing fell on him. Eventually he will receive worker’s compensation, but the process is long and nothing has come in yet, while at the same time he cannot work. The surgery Nala needs requires an orthopedic specialist and is expensive. All donations are for Nala, and paid only to the vet!

My dog’s name is Simba, so he hopes that Nala gets the medical attention she requires and gets better very soon!

I have 2 large dogs, both had this injury and went through TPLO. They walk out better than they walk in, quite amazing. Hope she makes a speedy recovery.
