About the Campaign
Help Murphy Walk Pain-Free Once More
Murphy faces a crucial medical issue that demands surgery. Adopted by his owner Kristin less than a year ago, Murphy had been fostered by her for six months before that. Hit by a car prior to adoption, he underwent surgery in Ontario to place a plate in his knee. However, recent complications have arisen, and Murphy now needs our help to resolve his latest health struggle: the removal of the knee plate.
Murphy’s Knee Condition:
- Irritation and infection around the knee plate
- Gooey discharge and pus developing in the area
- Antibiotics and steroids prescribed but not resolving the issue
- Veterinary recommendation to remove the knee plate
Lately, Murphy has experienced irritation and inflammation in the area surrounding the plate. Despite being put on antibiotics and steroids, the issue has not been resolved. The veterinarian has now recommended removing the plate to alleviate Murphy’s discomfort. X-rays have shown that the bone has healed properly, so the plate is no longer necessary.
The estimated cost for the plate removal is $2,000, which poses a significant financial challenge for Kristin and her husband. The couple recently got married and moved in together, relying solely on her husband’s income as a tile layer. With two other dogs in the household, they are trying to make ends meet while ensuring all their pets receive proper care.
How You Can Help: Donate to the fundraising appeal for Murphy’s surgery and share this appeal with friends, family, and social media networks
By focusing on Murphy’s medical needs, we hope to provide him with the necessary surgery to improve his comfort and overall quality of life. All donations are held by FAD and ONLY paid to the veterinarian when surgery is performed, the owner receives no money.

I love animals especially dogs I hate for them to be in pain. I just lost my dog Jazzy 2/1/2023. They are family.
