About the Campaign

Coughing Episodes

After the last coughing episode during the night Moose couldn’t move from coughing so hard he lost control of his bladder.

Moose has been an Emotional Support Animal for Alta’s husband for seven years. Alta and her family got Moose from a family friend who had puppies. Last summer Moose and his dad were stuck in the Camp Fire last year and had to evacuate California and move up to Oregon.

The relocation was also rough on Moose as well. Moose had some trouble with the elevation as they moved North. The vet visits started when Moose developed climate change illness. He was throwing up and having bowel problems. This is when the vet found his heart murmur and noticed that his teeth could use some cleaning.

Last month Moose had dental surgery

Alta, Moose’s mother was able to raise $900 through GoFundMe. AMAZING!! Moose was having a cough and the vet thought maybe the dental disease was causing the cough.  The vet did as much work as they could with the teeth but suggested Moose get his heart checked out.

Well Moose did ok for the first few days after the dental surgery but then the cough continued. Alta took Moose to another vet were Moose was diagnosed with a heart murmur and irregular heart beat. The vet wants to do an EKG ($60), an x-ray ($120) and then medicine to control the coughing ($6.30).

Moose is on Lasix for the fluid in his heart and for the cough he is on Doxycycline and cough syrup. The diagnostic tests will help provide knowledge into the next steps with Moose.

Moose wants to get back to his happy self and able to play ball again.

Free Animal Doctor raises money for sick and injured animals. All donations are paid directly to the animals vet.
