About the Campaign
Momoka’s heart is getting bigger,
and she has fluid in her lungs!
Momoka is just eight years-old. She’s a rescue from the animal shelter, and has been with her owner Reglia for seven years now. In 2022 Momoka got diagnosed with a heart murmur grade 3, they are graded 1-6 with the higher number being worse.
In June of this year Momoka started coughing, a consistent, dry cough that can be an indication of heart trouble. The vet examined her and diagnosed her murmur as now a grade 4, getting worse. In July she was diagnosed with fluid in her lungs as well, which the doctor said could be a side-effect of the heart problems.
Momoka is on heart medications, and and x-ray shows her heart is enlarged. To get to the best treatment though her doctor wants her to have an EchoCardiogram immediately, and consultation with a specialist.
Momoka’s owner is low income and has already been spending money she does not have treating Momoka, in fact she is now behind on her rent. She simply does not have the money or credit to pay for the specialist consultation ($275) and the EchoCardiogram and other tests (~$2000). Momoka is still a young and happy dog, and she is with a loving and dedicated owner! The problem here is just financial, we can fix that!

My sweetheart sheltie dog Leah died at 17 21 years ago. At the end her vet bills were staggering and put me deeply in debt. I have never gotten another dog since because of my fear of not being able to afford the costs of any vet emergencies or surgeries, etc. I deeply miss having a dog in my life. This sweetheart deserves a long healthy happy life. Hope this little bit helps.

Nobody really told me how serious her heart issue because we all focused on her Cushing disease. I didn’t want to be the same happen to Momoka.
