Abused by a Breeder,

little Pug has messed up teeth!

Mojo was used for breeding, but got rescued! The rescue group needed a foster for Mojo, and they found Micki in Pasadena, who ended up as a “foster-fail”, which is when a foster ends up adopting the dog. All good for Mojo, but there were problems coming.

First in 2023 she got a urinary tracy infection (UTI), and went through a number of treatments that did not help, until Micki got her to specialist at MASH in West Hollywood. There, with some expensive tests, they determined that Mojo had a chronic UTI, maybe from when she was with the breeder, that over all that time had caused all sorts of complications and was going to be hard to treat.

Micki got Mojo with a nutritionist, an adjusted diet, medications, all in it cost over $3000 but finally the infection was resolved, and Mojo is better. BUT, at that time the doctor also mentioned that Mojo had dental issues, and a whole stack of them too.

She has double rows of teeth, where it looks like the baby teeth did not drop out. She has a cracked molar, and a couple of broken on teeth as well. The doctor says the broken teeth were almost certainly caused by trauma, we can assume some sort of abuse. So poor Mojo, the UTI is gone, but these dental issues are getting worse!

At this point she needs dental surgery. It will be a lot of work, and being a Pug, anesthesia is always a concern due to the shortened snout and breathing difficulties. This combination means she needs the surgery with a specialist, again at MASH. The cost is high, and Micki is 75 years-old and on a fixed income, and already paid for all the UTI treatment. So Mojo needs donors!

All donations for Mojo are paid only to the veterinarian when she gets her surgery, you can see the estimate below (click to enlarge)… discussing with the surgeon, he expects it will be on the higher end due to the many dental complications.
