About the Campaign

Serious Dental Disease.

Mochi, a sweet 3-year-old British Shorthair, is in pain. Her breath is terrible, her gums are swollen, she drools in her sleep, and her little tongue hangs out of her mouth. These are all signs of serious dental disease—and if left untreated, it could lead to infection and further health complications.

John, a college student, got Mochi as a kitten along with her sister Suki. They’ve been part of the family ever since. But earlier this year, while John was away at school, his mom noticed Mochi’s breath and tongue problems.

John just returned home a week ago for the Summer, and has been doing everything he can—trying to brush her teeth, researching care, and calling every vet in the area. Now it’s clear: Mochi needs professional dental work.

John’s parents are under financial pressure. They recently bought a house, and between the mortgage, college expenses for John and his sister, and his dad being out of work, they told John they can’t afford to help with the vet bill—and even suggested rehoming the cats. But John isn’t giving up on Mochi!

In the past two weeks, he’s taken on catering jobs, working events and saving every penny. He’s raised $500 on his own so far—but it’s not enough to cover the full cost of Mochi’s dental procedure, and it is urgent. This really cannot wait months and months.

Your donation will help Mochi get the treatment she needs so she can eat, sleep, and purr comfortably again. All funds are paid directly to the veterinarian. Thank you for helping this young man care for his cat. John just got an estimate in, it’s below, click to enlarge:
