About the Campaign
Spay Surgery and Basic Vet Care
Missy Bonds, a 6-year-old, 15lb Jack Russell Terrier, urgently needs to be spayed and receive basic medical tests and care. Without this, she’s at risk for infections and future health complications. Her rescuer, Doralynn, has called everywhere looking for lower-cost options in the Bronx, but this is the only option available.
Missy’s story is heartbreaking. She was thrown out onto the streets, shuffled between homes where she was neglected and mistreated. When Doralynn finally found her, Missy was terrified—shaking so badly she could barely eat, her nails long, ribs showing, and her body dirty from surviving outside.
After a lot of patience, Missy slowly began to trust. She’s now been with Doralynn for about a year, safe and cared for, but she still needs her surgery and medical work to be truly healthy.
Doralynn wishes she could cover the cost herself, but she’s been unable to work since a devastating car accident left her with multiple screws in her back and neck. She lives on disability and struggles to make ends meet, with her daughter helping just enough to keep her from homelessness.
With your help, Missy can finally get the care she deserves—her spay, vaccines, and testing—so she can live out her life healthy and happy in her forever home. All donations are held by us and paid directly to the vet! Estimate below, click to enlarge:
