Swollen, painful eye

needs to be removed.

She was found stray last week by Angela, who works as a receptionist at a small vet clinic. Angela was out walking her dog and saw this kitty laying on the sidewalk, not moving. She didn’t recognize the cat as one in the neighborhood, so she went home and got some food and water and brought it out to her.

Angela watched, and Minerva (the name she later gave the kitty) barely moved and didn’t go for the food and water. She called her vet office, and they said to bring the kitty in, so Angela did just that! Scooped her up and brought her in.

The doc checked Minerva out, gave her fluids, did x-rays, got her a flea bath and basically just took care of her. She checked out pretty healthy, she was just dehydrated and overheated. Except for one thing: her eye pressure is too high, and the one eye is very very high, and the pupil is already damaged. That eye, the right, is blind and needs to be removed.

Angela is working to get an estimate. The clinic she works for does not do this type of surgery, and says it will probably cost around $2000. All donations are for Minerva only, and paid only to the clinic that does the procedure.
