Broke his forearm in two places!
Milo is only six months old, a tiny 7-pound border collie mix puppy full of energy and playfulness. But a freak accident has left him in urgent need of help. Early one morning, Milo jumped off the bed and landed badly—breaking both the radius and ulna in his front leg. With no stability in his forearm, Milo cannot heal on his own. He must have orthopedic surgery to repair the break.
Jacqueline, Milo’s owner, rushed him to the ER, where she paid over $1,000 just to stabilize him. Specialists at the Veterinary Orthopedic Center have now given an estimate of $4,300 for the surgery he needs. Without it, Milo will remain in pain and unable to use his leg properly.
Jacqueline adopted Milo just a month ago, after a friend couldn’t keep him. He was moving out of state, and told her he couldn’t keep Milo and had been trying to rehome him, but no one wanted him!
At 24 years old, she works as a cashier at White Castle and simply cannot afford the cost of emergency surgery on her own. She recently lost her 13-year-old Chihuahua, and Milo has quickly become her comfort and joy.
Milo’s injury is treatable, and with surgery, he can return to being the happy, playful puppy he’s meant to be. Every donation will go directly to his veterinarian to make sure this little pup gets the care he needs. We know the vet and have confirmed the case with them (they also treated Gimpy), in fact they called us asking if we would help Milo and Jacqueline.
