About the Campaign

Big Maxx got a Big Tumor!

Poor guy needs this removed urgently.

Previous veterinarian was not providing appropriate care!

Big Maxx is just a big ol’ sweetheart! Poor guy was going to be surrendered to the animal shelter at the beginning of the year and Margarita stepped in an adopted him. On May 2nd, he had a minor seizure, and worried, Margarita took him the Emergency Vet immediately. They didn’t seem too worried, giving him a week of medication for seizures and sending her home. The good news about that is that Maxx has not had another seizure. At that time they also told her to watch this small tumor on his side.

Worried, Margarita took Maxx to a regular vet as soon as she could get an appointment. This doctor thought it would be best to remove the tumor, but Margarita was worried about Maxx having surgery, especially after he had this seizure. So she got a second opinion at a “Holistic” vet that offers so called “miracle cures”.

Margarita got a $2000 loan from Care Credit and sent Maxx in to this vet for six different sessions, spending over the $2000. The bottom line: Maxx did not get better. The tumor actually burst at one point, and though the vet did treat for infection with antibiotics, not much more was done. Margarita says they kept telling her that the herbal and “natural” treatments would work, and at times the tumor did see to shrink, but we feel that in the end she got strung along.

Now Margarita has realized that Maxx has to have surgery to remove this tumor.

Margarita worked as administrative staff at a local school, but with COVID she has been very limited hours for months. Her husband works, but they have 6 children, and covering this cost, with the debt from the previous vet, is not something the family can do. At Free Animal Doctor we hold the donations and ONLY pay them to the vet when service is provided, and we will only pay for Maxx to have surgery to have this tumor removed. Please donate in confidence: you donation will go to max to get him the legitimate treatment he needs urgently. Thank you so much and big WOOOOOFS!
